Nintendo announced the Wii MotionPlus at E3 last week, taking many of us by surprise; it seemed like the device did what we were told the Wiimote itself could do. According to GameInformer, the device, which will come packed-in with Wii Sports: Resort next year, caught many in the development community by surprise at the show. That's not good news...

Nikon has updated the firmware for its portable image viewing and storage device the Coolwalker MSV-01. Version 1.3 for Windows and Mac users corrects a problem that occurred with images taken by the Nikon D2X, D2Hs (TIFF files) and the Coolpix 8800 and Coolpix 8400 (JPEG files); the images would not fill the whole screen in full-screen playback.

It's not really clear what Microsoft wants to achieve with a sphere version of the Microsoft Surface (obviously you can't put objects down and let them interact with the Surface if it's a sphere). However, it is very interesting that there is a working prototype. It's much easier to get all those infrared cameras covering on one plane...

(required for proper colour space mapping). for Europe, SE Asia and Australia is not yet available. Set the main switch/mode dial of the camera to the setup position. Press the digital-subject-program button. Check the number displayed in the LCD monitor display of the camera.
