Pre-PMA 2006: Sony is also adding a couple more models to the top of its W-series line with the Cyber-shot DSC-W100 and DSC-W70 featuring 8.1 and 7.2 million pixels, respectively. Pre-PMA 2005: In Sony's second announcement of the day comes two near-identical four million pixel cameras. The only difference between the Cyber-shot DSC-S60 and the Cyber-shot DSC-S90 (pictured) appears to be that the latter has a 2.5-inch LCD, while the S60 has a 2.0-inch LCD and is very slightly lighter. Sony has today announced the latest evolution of its ultra-slim DSC-T series of digital cameras. The DSC-T5 has an internal folded-optics three times zoom lens, a five megapixel CCD sensor, a 2.5" Hybrid LCD monitor and 32 MB of internal memory (as well as a Memory Stick Duo slot). Sony has announced the five megapixel three times optical zoom DSC-M1, their first 'Hybrid' movie / stills product. The DSC-M1 is the first Sony digital camera to feature MPEG-4 movie encoding which means higher quality clips which occupy much less space. PMA 2005: Sony has announced the Cyber-shot S80, which will be sold in Europe along with the S40 and S90. It has the same 4.1 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom lens and 2.0-inch LCD as the Cyber-shot S60, which isn't available in Europe. Sony is also marketing these new models as 'stamina' cameras as the user can take around 440 shots from one charge of the supplied rechargable batteries. This camera is the latest in the T line of ultra-compact digital cameras, the unique feature of this amazing little digital camera is that it is only 14.8 mm / 0.6 in 'thin' (9.8 mm / 0.4 in at the thinnest part).
