Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset then (Dock included), and now (no Dock for you! Starting with the Keynote at Macworld Expo 2007, the iPhone Bluetooth Headset never got much attention. That's a good thing, because it sucked. The web page for the headset at the Apple Store was filled with comments about poor reception, static, popping, or just dying after a couple days of use.

The Apple MacBook Air has been a ground-breaking first-generation product (in my opinion). So, what will Apple do to top it when an update comes later this year? There are some telling indicators already. This is what I expect--and hope for--as a user. First, a disclaimer. I am not an Apple fanatic. The MacBook Air is the first Apple product I have ever used for more than a few days.

Almost 15 years ago, Apple did design an Apple Interactive Television Box, but it never emerged from the prototype stage. Ten years ago, a project code-named Columbus was rumored to be a set-top box but turned out to be the iMac; it was hard to be disappointed. Finally, in 2006 Apple shipped its first set-top box, the Apple TV (). After such a long buildup, it was bound to be a disappointment.

We're convinced that this gadget was invented by Dr. Evil fans simply for the shark references: It's a Bluetooth headset from Brando (of course) that comes with a built-in laser pointer. It actually could come handy for PowerPoint presentations, though we'd recommend taking it off your ear before using the pointer to avoid looking like a trained seal. As for the headset...

Some people want us to believe that Apple doesn't do anything wrong. In fact, those same people usually believe that each and every product Apple has ever created has easily surpassed the quality and beauty of all of its competitors. Surely they would like you to forget the Apple Newton and the '90s, and invariably they'll forget that the company's Apple TV is hardly a success. But alas...

While Apple rarely receives a "best buy" rating from Consumer Reports, ostensibly due to price, the magazine has historically rated its tech support top notch. As pointed out by the Mac Observer, the latest round up from Consumer Reports keeps Apple in the top spot, with Lenovo a distant second for laptops and Dell and even further distant second for desktops.

From what Steve Jobs has said recently, it doesn't look like Apple designer Jonathan Ive will become the CEO of Apple anytime soon. That may not be a bad thing, since Ive seems to have plenty to keep him busy for now. When he's not designing shiny new Apple products, Ive has been lending his talents to Pixar, and providing design input on a character in the upcoming film WALL-E.
