Although truck sales are well of the mark this year in the U.S., Toyota has announced that it will be boosting its Mexican output of Tacoma pickup trucks. Toyota lone Mexican plant located in Tijuana will increase Tacoma production to about 50,000 units this year, up from 32,249 in 2007. With a weak U.S. auto market, General Motors said Wednesday that sales slipped 5% worldwide in the second quarter, helping Toyota beat GM in worldwide sales for the second year in a row during the first half of the year. With rising fuel costs and a slumping economy, it comes as no real surprise that truck and SUV sales are on the decline. Album sales in the US during the past year have fallen by 11%, largely due to the dwindling market for CDs. FRANKFURT, Germany — GM Europe said Wednesday that its sales rose by nearly 3% in the first half of this year, bolstered by stronger demand for its Chevrolet brand, but its June sales dropped by 5.5%.
