Washington guard Gilbert Arenas is expected to play in Game 2 of the Wizards' series against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night despite a sprained right wrist. Arenas scored 24 points in the opener, but apparently hurt his wrist in the fourth quarter while fouling LeBron James. Arenas was already slowed by a surgically repaired knee.

The video game Spore begins its life cycle Tuesday. For its first baby step, the game's Spore Creature Creator goes live at www.spore.com. The program, for Windows and Macintosh PCs, lets players design creatures using the game's editing tools. Those creations will populate the world — actually, the galaxies — of Spore when the full game launches Sept. 7.

Playoffs Baby! After closing the season on a four game skid (although I still consider the Cleveland game a W) I was a bit apprehensive. After Game 1, all apprehension was absent. After the last official "W" of the regular season, a 101-94 win at home vs. Detroit, I remembered thinking, Hey, we can play with these guys. After Game 1, I know we can. What a game! The quick start was critical.

Today, patch 1.12 was released via battle.net, which includes a ladder reset andfinallythe ability to play without a CD.
